1979 Pontiac Trans Am

This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was the subject of a rotisserie refurbishment under previous ownership that was completed in 2023. Work involved repainting the body Atlantis Blue, retrimming the bucket seats in black hobnail upholstery, and retrofitting an overhauled 400ci V8. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked to a Safe-T-Track differential, and the car rides on a WS6 suspension as well as 15″ snowflake-style alloy wheels. Additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, silver Trans Am graphics, a shaker hood, front and rear spoilers, a Hurst shifter, and long-tube exhaust headers.

The factory 301ci was removed and replaced with an overhauled “PWH” 400ci V8 as part of the refurbishment. A Cold Case aluminum radiator and an Optima battery have been fitted. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. The dual exhaust system features long-tube headers and glasspack-style mufflers.
